Following the announcement of ticket prices for our upcoming FA Cup tie with Manchester United on a Wednesday night with either very limited or non-existent train services (depending on where you live), the sense of resentment and frustration among West Ham fans has been widespread.
On Thursday 2 February Hammers United wrote to the Club explaining how fans were feeling about the cost of the tickets and that it was absolutely imperative that we get all 9000 fans up to Old Trafford. We asked if the Club would be prepared to provide free coach travel for all supporters who might need it. Our allocation has now been limited, by West Ham, to 6,000.
While we acknowledge coach travel would not benefit all supporters, we felt it would be better if the Club could do something rather than nothing and laying on free coach travel, which is something other clubs do for their fans, would be great way for the Club to help out.
So far we have had no response from the Club.
We will keep you updated if there are any developments.
