Independent Supporters Committee: meeting update

The Independent Supporters Committee; a unified body of West Ham supporters’ groups, met with club staff yesterday. The ISC has been formed by these West Ham supporters’ groups to meet the club regularly to discuss the supporter experience.

In this first ISC meeting, Hammers United asked the club to explain their plan for addressing the dissatisfaction that exists around the supporter experience. Hammers United referred to the thousands of fans that took part in demonstrations last year, fans that have previously walked away from the club and fans that did not renew their season tickets this season.

We will keep our members informed of the issues we raise in ISC meetings. These issues will be guided by our survey results and continued communication with our members. Full minutes of this first meeting will be published shortly. Hammers United are pleased to sit on this committee and look forward to being able to represent our members in this forum.

There are different tiers or levels of fan engagement, as set out by the FSA. A fans parliament, which is the level at which the ISC operates, exists to discuss the supporter experience with all FSA affiliated groups at the club. The tier above this is structured dialogue, where one supporters’ group can meet with club staff and a board member/s. Hammers United have requested a structured dialogue meeting so that our committee members can meet club staff and a board member/s to discuss the detail of our recent survey with a view working together to find ways of addressing supporter’s concerns.
