Europa Conference League Ticket Prices.

EUROPA CONFERENCE LEAGUE TICKET PRICES.

In what has been an economically traumatic year for the overwhelming majority of people in the country it should not go unmentioned that Season Ticket prices and the cost of matchday tickets have increased, while food and drink prices inside the London Stadium increased to such a degree that the Club claimed to be issuing legal proceedings against at least one contractor.

West Ham fans, keen to hear some good financial news, may or may not have been cheered by the release of the Club’s latest accounts which saw healthy revenues for the Club, excellent returns for our owners on their investment and a million pounds bonus paid to Karren Brady on top of her 1.24 million salary.

It may be trebles all round in the Boardroom but for West Ham fans it’s time to put their hands in their pockets yet again as tickets prices for our first home knock-out match of the ECL are announced - see link below to the Club’s website with full details.

It’s not easy to judge whether the ticket prices the Club has announced are fair and it’s natural for comparisons to be made between the ECL and last years’ EL but there are some facts that cannot be ignored: The ECL is an inferior competition, we don’t know who we are playing or when we are playing them, the economy is in a far worse state than it was this time last year, household budgets are being more throttled than squeezed and did we mention that Season Ticket prices, the cost of matchday tickets and food and drink prices inside the London Stadium have increased too?

The Hammers United Committee met on Monday 2nd January 2023 to discuss this and a little more.

It is the opinion of the HU committee that the ticket prices are too high and that the deadline date for season ticket holders to purchase their own seat is unreasonable - given that it is three weeks before the opponents are known and the date of the fixture is confirmed - and we will now be seeking our members’ views on these.

However, there was an alarming issue related to the ticket prices which recently came to light and needed to be discussed. This concerned the ISC’s Ticketing Subcommittee and the fact that due process had not been followed, details of which can be found in our minutes by clicking on the link here

Footnote:The Supporters Club rep. has seconded H.U. motion on ticketing prices which will now go to a named vote of all ISC members.
