It has been a long road but we are nearly there.
Hammers United has paid out £224 so far which was for transportation and the planning permission application fee.
Thanks to Garry Hutchinson who joined those who have given their services free of charge when he processed the planning application on our behalf.
Thanks to Sean Burke who for months has stored, and who now has renovated the crest in his workshop free of charge.
Thanks to everyone who has given up their time to make this possible.
Thanks to the West Ham United fan base that rallied round and paid the £8750 to purchase the crest.
The club chose not to rescue the crest. The fans came together and pulled it off. The best fans in the world.
We have now accepted a quotation of around £1860 (which Hammers United will pay) for transportation, labour, fixtures, scaffolding.
The crest is now being restored back to its former splendour, check out the youtube clip below:-
The crest will be located on the old West Ham United Supporters Club, opposite where once stood the South Bank and latterly the Bobby Moore stand.
Hammers United are looking into securing a commemorative plaque to go alongside what will be a fitting memorial to the Boleyn Ground and the memorable occasions so many enjoyed there.
We are looking for a suitable date for the fixing/ceremony which you will appreciate is not easy because of the uncertainty of match dates due to our European adventure.
All Hammers are welcome and we can enjoy a drink in the Boleyn afterwards.
We will keep you informed of developments.
