AGM and feedback request

Hammers United Annual General Meeting

Dear Hammers United members,

This is both an update following our AGM and a request for your feedback regarding protests.

Thank you to circa 100 members who gave up their time to attend the Plaistow Community Centre at lunchtime on Saturday. Your involvement is greatly appreciated.

The members gave a resounding endorsement of the reports from both the Chairman and the Joint Secretaries and echoed the thoughts of the committee in that Hammers United is making great strides working on behalf of its members and it has adopted a clear strategy and direction driven by its members.

Twelve committee members were appointed and affirmed by way of vote. We believe we have a strong committee who are all passionate about one thing: Hammers United’s overarching aim which is simply to improve things for all West Ham fans.

On the subject of protests, a variety of opinions were shared around how to make our protests as effective as possible. A decision was taken to ask the wider membership for feedback regarding the type of protest they believe would have the greatest impact.

Please email: [email protected] with your thoughts about how you would like us to protest.

The members remain unequivocal in their view that the campaign for new ownership must remain the top immediate priority.

Members are adamant that the board have not earned our trust, have refused to embrace our heritage, have not adequately replaced the home that they sold, have let down the community who we should be serving, have continued to offer loyal supporters a dire service and have failed to communicate openly and transparently with fans.

Members reading this might like to offer us feedback on the approach of holding an event aimed at simply having a large presence. The impact being that the media cover the event and relay the message. Or on the approach of holding an event aimed at causing disruption. The impact being felt directly by Gold, Brady and Sullivan (it is important to note here that our plans would always be safe, legal and would in no way affect the team).

We look forward to receiving your feedback.

We will update you as soon as the committee has met to discuss the responses received.
