AEK Larnaca Away Tickets - Possible GDPR Breach - Further Update

Fellow Hammers United members,

Continuing on from the previous update found at www.hammersunited.com/aek-larnaca-away-tickets-gdpr-breach-update-2/

No doubt you are aware that we have been contacted by many Hammers United members who have expressed their concern about the potential personal data breach on the part of the Club following the supply of tickets for the Larnaca away match.

Some of our members have contacted the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) directly and it is their belief that there has been a potential breach of GDPR.

You may also have seen a recent statement released by the Independent Supporters Committee (ISC) in relation to the potential GDPR breach :

Following the alleged GDPR data breach for the AEK Larnaca away game, West Ham United have assured the ISC that the appropriate measures have been taken.

Although a member of the ISC, Hammers United is disappointed that the Club has not given a clear explanation as to what went wrong nor provided adequate reassurance that steps have been taken to prevent a repeat.

We have sought advice on behalf of our members and invite any member who wishes to discuss to contact us by emailing us at: http://hammersunited.com/contact/

It may also be helpful to compare notes with fellow supporters. Any member wishing to do so please let us know and we will do our best to assist.

In the meantime should any of our members feel their data has been misused or not kept secure they can get advice from the I.C.O.

Please find link here: www.gov.uk/data-protection/make-a-complaint

Hammers United will continue to pursue the Club for the answers we believe our members and the wider fan base deserve.
