Formed in March 2019, with the simple aim of improving things for all West Ham United supporters, Hammers United consulted with their membership and the wider fanbase to understand what is important to those supporters.

The Supporter Vision is a blueprint by supporters for supporters.

The Vision is built on six distinct principles with an overarching goal of clearly defining what is important to West Ham United supporters and rebuilding the supporter experience at the club.

This will serve Hammers United, all West Ham United supporters and the club itself.

The six principles that have been defined are:

Responsibility and Trust

Identity and Heritage

Stadium and Experience

Community and Supporters

Service and Loyalty

Engagement and Communication

Hammers United members and other West Ham United supporters wanted to see these areas of importance represented and explained in their Vision.

Paul Colborne, co-founder and Chair of Hammers United said, “Trust in the current owners has been broken as a direct result of their actions over the last eleven years. An extensive survey of our members and the wider fanbase, carried out midway through the 2020-21 season, reaffirmed how supporters view a change in ownership as a priority if we are to rebuild the supporter experience at our club.”

“Hammers United asked our members what that would look like and we have listened to their views. This is their Vision; a Vision which can unite all West Ham supporters by defining, and then striving to embody, our shared culture. This will enable us to prepare for, and work with, new owners.

Supporters deserve a representative and respected voice to speak on their behalf when consulted over strategy and decision making that affects them. We support the push reform that calls for this voice to be heard regularly at board level.

We are proud that our members have put Hammers United in the privileged position where we have the backing to play a leading role in making West Ham United again. We would urge all West Ham United supporters to join Hammers United to strengthen your collective voice.”

Formed in March 2019, with the simple aim of improving things for all West Ham United supporters, Hammers United is an FSA affiliated supporters’ group. They are the largest West Ham United supporters’ association. HU has a membership of circa 18,000 and an elected representative committee of twelve, including Chair and Joint Secretaries.
